Students are busy at work in English Language Arts class. We are wrapping-up our review of the summer reading required texts. Over the last few days, students in small groups have been rotating through various work stations, enriching their understanding of Let the Circle Be Unbroken by Mildred Taylor. Some stations focused on historical time periods, such as sharecropping and the Great Depression. Other stations have encouraged students to think of themes and conflicts present in the book. Tonight, students will begin their review of various characters in the novel The Friends.
By now, nearly all students have selected and been approved to begin memorizing their practice declamation piece. Performance for practice declamation will kick-off in class on Friday, November 2nd, and continue on Monday, November 5th, and Tuesday, November 6th. Students will be assigned to perform on 1 of those 3 days.
